years ago as a trade association representing and lobbying for ICT
businesses with partly or entirely an IT focus. Its mission is to
positively influence the development of the information society in
Hungary by identifying and developing breakouts and through
intensive lobbying. Besides the activity in Hungary, IVSZ is also
represented in the executive board of the largest IT organisation
in the European Union (EICTA), so it can provide efficient
representation of the membership even at the European Union level.
IVSZ pushes for extended knowledge and skills in Hungarian ICT
through the Brussels lobby and tendering processes. Through active
communication, IVSZ aims to involve as many members as possible in
the activities of the association, in effective shared efforts.
IT Coordination Forum
The Forum of Hungarian IT Organizations for Information Society
(Inforum) condemns the plan to levy a 0.8% tax on internet service
providers and mobile content providers as detrimental to the
development of the ICT industry. (The purpose of this tax is to
increase the revenues of the National Cultural Fund.) Inforum
emphasises that the Hungarian ICT industry cannot be used as a
drainless horn of plenty and piggy bank while 61% of the Hungarian
population, 70% of households have no chance to be included in the
information society and therefore require assistance and means of
development.
Hungarian Association of Teachers for Informatics (ISZE)
Established voluntarily by its members in 1990, the Association
operates as a non-profit organization, has a self-government and is
a national legal entity. Its main task is the professional

John von Neumann Computer Society (NJSZT)
The John von Neumann Computer Society (NJSZT) is dedicated as a
non-profit organization to preserve values that can be included in
today's knowledge-based society as well as to set new directions
that meet the requirements of the age and to form the IS world of
the future actively. NJSZT is a scientific organization in the
first place but we consider a very important task of us playing a
leading role within the nation-wide dissemination of "computer
literacy". Our Society is member of the CEPIS (Council of
Professional Informatics Societies) and of the European Computer
Driving Licence (ECDL) Foundation to disseminate ECDL in Hungary.
Our Society coordinates the ECDL activity all over Hungary. John
von Neumann Computer Society supports the activities of leader
persons and industrial companies by staging conferences and running
workshops as well as by virtue of regular events of its technical
working units that are aimed at promoting the exchange of
experience and information among computer professionals. We put our
support behind new ideas in informatics and provide the necessary
institutional framework for them to materialize. Young people's
education and support of young talents have special importance to
our Society. To this end we have set up special standing
committees. Many times over, we have acted as initiators and
organizers of nation wide contests in programming and we prepare
the Hungarian team participating in the International Olympiads in
Informatics.
